I'm ready to travel the world!
The family is on their first big trip so Kai can meet his Northwest ohana! Everyone has been so excited to meet Kai and he has been loving the extra attention. This week, we met our friends and family in Washington. Next week, we will travel to Oregon to meet the rest of our people.
Monday
On Monday, we flew out of Maui for Kai's first plane ride to Seattle. Mommy and daddy reserved extra comfort seats so Kai could play on the floor. It worked out perfect. He happily stayed on the floor for part of the trip, took small naps, and only cried a few times. When we finally made it to Uncle John and Auntie Christiana's house at 1am, Kai thought it was the perfect time to laugh and smile. It was not.
Tuesday
Auntie Christiana started a new job this week so she couldn't stay with us during the day but Uncle John did. Uncle John was a natural with Kai! He was big help.
We met Uncle Vince! Mommy, daddy, and Uncle Vince used to prank each other when they were all neighbors in West Seattle. Wouldn't it be funny if we left the baby on his doorstep?! Well, after 5 minutes of ringing the doorbell, it wasn't that funny. We thought no one was home so we let ourselves in. Surprise! He was in the shower! So we did the same thing but at the bathroom door and it worked!
Wednesday
We went to the Pacific Science Center to meet up with the Nunes and their family from Tijuana. Kai loved being held by Auntie Abril and even fell asleep in her arms. Emilia was so sweet with Kai. She is going to be such a good big sister to Samuel.
Kai finally got to meet his Pop Pop, Gamma, one of his aunties, and his cousin Zakai! Pop pop was a little scary for Kai but he loved getting hugs and kisses from his auntie and gamma.
Thursday
Auntie Christiana and Uncle John had a pho party with all our friends! Kai was a little tired from meeting so many people but he was still a good sport when he was passed from one loved one to the next. SOME people were VERY EXCITED to meet Kai, including his other mommy. :)
Friday
After a busy week, Kai was ready for some rest! We headed over to the Mitra's for the weekend where Kai has been catching up on sleep, playing with his toys, and getting spoiled.
