Mama forgot to put a title
Well, this week just flew right by! Kai was quarantined for part of the week because he caught a small cold but by Wednesday he saw everyone in his crew. Our big trip to Korea, China, and Japan is just one week away! Mama spent most of the time at home prepping lists, gathering things, and fretting about the trip that she hadn’t spent too much time watching Kai’s development. She did notice one thing: Kai has been fussin’, and boobin’, and chompin’ on his fingers. Surprise, surprise, Kai is cutting his first molar. Kai seems to be taking it well. Or maybe mama and daddy just know what to do so new teeth don’t disrupt too much of our daily lives.
Home life
Now that Kai is a proper toddler, he’s really been enjoying the new works that mama has put out for him. He is loving the legos, is getting better at the shape puzzle, and spends a lot of time working with his counting book. Kai also played in his water table and enjoys pouring the water in everything and on everything. Mama even let him paint the wall this week. He is still eating paint.
HIs favorite new toys are definitely the animals. Kai loves the animals. He plays with them all day and it is very sweet.
Animals are fair game
Since Kai loves animals so much, we decided to take him to the Maui Fair to see the prized livestock and poultry. He. Was. In. Heaven! (He surprisingly also liked the lights and the music despite how overwhelming it was.)
Our first trip to Hana!
The Lius went on their first camping (well, more like cabining) trip with friends! We will never do it again! …Until Kai is old enough to fend for himself… and he goes with his friends… and mama and daddy stay in an Bed and Breakfast nearby. Roughing it with a teething 15 month old isn’t as fun as you’d imagine. Kai is not a strong enough swimmer for Hamoa (even though he thought he was!!!), not a stable enough walker to not smash his face into lava rocks, and not a still enough sleeper to lay in a twin bed without falling out. Despite the complete lack of mental rest or sleep mama and daddy had, at least the family was in good company. :) Not to mention, the scenery was beautiful.
We end with two very cute photos with friends
