Mama says I'm very annoying.
Mama cleans up the kitchen, Kai destroys the living room. Mama gets her brush, Kai’s little hands are in the drawer pulling out hairbands. Washing Kai’s hands is like wrestling a baby octopus whose only goal is to turn the faucet on and off multiple times. It’s annoying. Simple tasks have become annoyingly difficult. Mama is getting annoyed. *sigh…. This is what it’s like with a toddler. Kai is a toddler. Kai is a toddler with a strong command of the word “no” (or “nah”, as he says it). Now, he wants to do what he wants or cry trying. Even though Kai was so so annoying, he was mostly easygoing this week.
Kai loves his mama
Kai has always been a mama’s boy but it’s been amplified the last few weeks. He is still nursing a lot and likes to have mama in his view at all times. Mama is loving all the hugs and kisses and cuddles she gets from her little bug, even if sometimes it’s a bit much.
Auntie Winnie is here!
Kai is so lucky to have family and friends that visit so often. Even though we try to see them on the mainland, it’s not the same as getting quality time at home. Kai recognized his Auntie and warmed up quickly, even though it’s been a couple months since we had seen her. Mama and daddy even took advantage of the extra help and let Auntie Winnie practice her excellent babysitting skills.
Some unexpected new things
For several weeks, mama had a beading work out for Kai. Even though he was interested, it was a bit too challenging for him. So mama thought of a solution.
Kai LOVES animals but he never really got the sounds quite right until now. We might have to visit a farm soon.
This is new. I’m not sure how many 15 month olds do this but Kai just figured it out. It might be his new favorite thing.
Kai has friends
For a few weeks now, Kai and Joshua have been hanging out every Tuesday while the mamas take turns getting things done. This week was Joshua’s first time without his mommy at our house. Kai and Joshua had lots of fun together. It made both mamas very happy.
We also went on a little field trip to the botanical garden in Kula with Jack. Kai got to feed the fish and both boys enjoyed looking at the birds. Mama even found a Jackson Chameleon for the boys to look at. Kai was not impressed.
He was still really cute this week.
Even though Kai was kind of annoying, he was pretty cute this week.
