Woah! Get a hold of your emotions, Kai!
It’s tough to be a small person. It must be because any little thing can set him spiraling into meltdown mode. Screaming, hitting, spitting, crying, body slam fallouts on the floor, you name it, he’s done it. He might be tired. Or hungry. He wanted to do something different than what you thought he said. He didn’t listen. He wants to play with you. Or just reasons unknown. But along with these crazy downs came the sweetest ups. Cuddles and hugs and kisses and thank you’s and I love you’s abound at the same time. In between mastering his emotions, we’re singing and dancing and drumming together. We’re running and jumping and hiding. He’s more creative and independent. His speech is more complex. And he’s happy.
We beached so much this week
Somehow we made it to a beach on the North, South, and Westside. We’re finally coming out of the rainy season and we are reminded why everyone says Maui has the best beaches! But we’re careful with that summer sun and make sure that we have good protection. Kai is serious about sunscreen application.
Oh, and we’re learning how to play safely on the boards! By the time he got out of the water, he learned how to stand up strong, walk on the board without holding mama or daddy, jump off the board, “swim” back, and climb up. He LOVED it!
This kid loves his boots!
Gigi got Kai some boots and he wears them at every opportunity. He wears them more than his clothes.
He loves his daddy!
And it’s freaking adorable.
You might be thinking…
Look at all of these adorable photos of Kai and his daddy. But where are the cute ones of Mama and Kai? Thank goodness daddy took some.
