Ok, it's been a minute.

Ok, it's been a minute.

So mama hasn’t put up any postings for a few weeks because there wasn’t much to report. But now things have changed. A few weeks ago, Kai caught a cold but mama could not understand why he was somehow full of so much energy. It took an hour to put him to bed because he spent a majority of the time babbling nonstop. No one really understood what he was saying until one day, when it all clicked. All of the sudden, Kai learned all the words in English and Cantonese!

It’s in his blood
One day, Kai found some chopsticks and did this:

Perfect form.

Perfect form.

Mama and daddy were so excited, they brought out chopsticks his size and let him practice.

Why is this his concentration face though?

Two-way petting zoo
Actually, we just went to a regular petting zoo with Jack. Kai loves animals. He has a basket full of animals that he brings out every day. He makes daddy and mama listen to him while he practices all the sounds. Mama decided it would be fun to see the real, live animals. Instead, Kai and Jack would have rather played at the water table. :-\

He’s keeping busy at home
Kai has been sick twice since our last post so we have spent much of our time at home while he recovers. Luckily, Kai is very good at playing on his own.

Kai’s new favorite thing is putting on “clothes”. Sometimes clothes mean his shirts and pants. Sometimes it means mama’s. Sometimes it means her boots. Sometimes it means using her hair scrunchy as a tutu. The definition is pretty fluid.

Quick stop to the Northwest
Mama’s grandpa Eddie passed away during Thanksgiving so mama and Kai went to Washington for his funeral. Even though it was difficult reason to visit, there was family around to lean on. We spent time with mama’s family, opened Christmas presents with his god-family, ate a fancy lunch at Uncle Vince’s, played with Emilia and Samuel, and even got to see Auntie Eileen.

Daddy is the cool guy
Every morning, Kai wakes up and asks for daddy. Mama tells him he is working. Kai gets down, goes to daddy’s office door, says, “knock, knock” and knocks on the door. Then he waits for daddy to open it and give him a morning hug. Kai loves having his daddy home and spends much of the day trying to distract him from work.

Bonus Cuteness
Enjoy. :)

I’ll “cheers” to that!
