A week of firsts.
This week was all about new adventures and experiences. Jian got to experience his first "up all night with the baby that refuses to sleep". I got to go on my first walk since leaving the hospital and Kai had his first epic fart video. This week was more challenging than the last, especially since Kai has entered nocturnal newborn stage. Even though this is mildly irritating, we still like having our little bean around.
First Walk
Recovery is boring. Very, very boring. So boring that I look forward to 10 minute walks around Waikiki (I may be bored but I'm not trying to destroy fun parts of my body because I am bored).
Jian said, "I'm experiencing what it's like to be pregnant!" I did not think that was funny.
First Family Outing
This July 4th we were limited on what we could do but I refused to do nothing. Luckily, our friends were around to picnic at the park with us. Kai spent most of the time crying or sleeping.
First Smiles
We learned it is almost impossible to capture a newborn smile on camera clearly. Not only that, but they are still a little derpy and sandwiched between some really ugly faces...
This may be the ugliest face I've ever seen on a baby.
First Bath
Kai's umbilical cord finally fell off and we were able to give him his first bath on Wednesday. It was perfect timing since he got some type of bodily fluid on all but two blankets in 24 hours (we have eight with us). You can really tell how much he was enjoying the bath is his pictures...
First Beach Day
In Hawaiian, Kai means ocean. You would think this island boy would love a little beach day. Well, he didn't. Kai mostly cried the whole time. Here are so photos of him not crying...
