Nature. It's a part of who I am now.
In just a few weeks, Kai will be two years old! Time really does fly by when you have a little one. Although it’s impossible to enjoy every minute, mama and daddy are so happy to have this little monster in their lives. He’s changed and morphed into a talking, walking, attitude-infused jumping bean. He is singing and talking so much that there is never a quiet moment in the house when he is awake. His favorite songs are “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star” and “Peanut Butter and Jelly”. His sentence structure is improving and he has a better understanding of more complex instructions. Instead of “Thank you, mama”, Kai now says, “Making dinner, thank you, mama”. Instead of “Sorry mama”, Kai will say, “Not listening, sorry mama”. He’s been so sweet and cuddly this week, a nice change from the monster he’s been…
Anti-Social Social Club
Mama has found her mama group. Every Wednesday, Kai has his play group and mama has her chat group. Kids run around like maniacs and mamas take turns snacking and watching groups of munchkins. Mamas have time to relax, ask questions, give advice, and tell funny stories. Mama feels so lucky to have this circle of women in her life. Kai is also lucky to have friends that he connects with, learns from, and cares for. We love hanging with them so much that we often see them outside of forest time!
The Lius went to visit the Westscotts on Friday. Before mama realized it, Kai and Jack were in Jack’s crib wrestling like little puppies. It was really cute.
Water babies
On Monday, Kai and Liana got to ride on paddle boards for the first time! Once Kai got comfortable, he told mama, “Faster!” and off they went together. :)
Maui Matsuri!
Before Kai was born, mama got Kai a cute little Japanese outfit that she forgot about. The Maui Matsuri was the perfect event to squeeze into it! Kai had lots of fun doing arts and crafts, watching Taiko, and eating all the fair food. We couldn’t stay for the bon dance this year, but we did take a million model pictures.
Kai even practiced a little Taiko drumming of his own when we got home!
Bedtime Routine Change-Up
So… Mama puts Kai to bed. That’s mama’s work. We read books, have ba, mama texts her people or reads Harry Potter. That’s our thing. However, Kai decided it was time for a personnel change for story time. She was super cool about it and didn’t glare at daddy when she took this picture.
Normal home stuff
I leave you with the things we did at home.
