I accidentally cross-dressed.
新年快乐! Chinese New Year celebrations started this week. Mommy and daddy don't celebrate many holidays or keep traditions, but they decided this was an important one for Kai to know. Kai wore a new outfit and ate noodles, fish, dumplings, and sesame balls. We made sure he facetimed his great grandma in China and his grandparents in Portland. He got a lai si, and even fed one to a lion during the lion dance. Mommy only made one tiny mistake this year. Mommy didn't realize that she bought a girl's outfit for him, so for Kai's first new year, he wore a lady's suit.
He's busy, busy, busy!
Kai is faster, stronger, and bolder with every passing day! Kai can stand for a few seconds without holding anything and has been practicing all week. He has also turned into a crawling tornado, leaving toys and clothes in his wake. Mommy and daddy have had a hard time getting him to do anything these days.
It's natural
Uncle Vince commented that Kai is naked a lot. It's true. He is. He lives on a warm, tropical island.
Teeth!
Teeth are happening to Kai's face! It is so, so very sad for mommy to see her little baby grow up so fast. Kai's first bottom tooth broke this week and the second one is not far behind. Kai has been pretty easy considering his mouth is probably on fire a lot.
Sippy cups, top knots, and baby wipes
If you haven't noticed, Kai has his own water cup. He hasn't figured out how to drink out it without sounding like he was dying of thirst but mommy and daddy are pretty proud of their little bean.
Kai's hair has been looking a little crazy these days so mommy decided it was time to put it up. Grandma Pearl said he looked like a girl. Grandpa Raymond said he looked like a little onion. Mommy thinks it's the cutest thing she's ever seen.
Since Kai started teething, mommy has been letting him suck on baby wipes. Mommy buys wipes without chemicals so she doesn't mind.
Because he was just so cute this week.
