There's no such thing as silence when I'm around!
Kai is just a few weeks shy of two years old! He talks all the time and if he’s not talking, he’s shouting or singing (which is adorable). He recognizes most of his letters and can even count a small number of objects. Kai can jump off of things with two feet and has a pretty good handle of his balance bike. He’s all about cars and trucks and excavators still (maybe forever). He’s building more complex things with his legos and wants us to join in the fun. Kai even reads to us. He’s having less tantrums and more smiles. Mama and daddy are basking in the warmth of having their silly, smiley baby back.
Don’t do it!
Mama and daddy still have trouble getting Kai to do what they ask. Mama and daddy used to be firm with Kai when they would tell him to do something but it almost always ended up being more work than it was worth. Sometimes, they pretend to listen when he refuses to do what they ask. It works occasionally. But mama has found an even more effective way to get Kai to listen.
Ice Cream Photo Shoot!
Who doesn’t love watching little ones have their first ice cream cone (in a non-creepy way)! Auntie Paula wanted to get a few pictures of the Forest Friends enjoying ice cream from their new shop. Of course mama took one hundred pictures. It was adorable. All the kids were very excited for ice cream. Once they got said ice cream, everyone (except Kai) got down to eating ice cream. Kai took the opportunity to say, “Cheese!”, as if the photo shoot was for him.
Naturally, after all that sugar, a pool party was in order.
Playdates with Liana
Liana now comes over on Thursday afternoons while her mama takes a much needed break. It’s really sweet to see the two of them run around the yard, happy and carefree. It melts mama’s heart so much.
Cooking is still a thing
Kai still loves cooking. So much. Mama took Kai to Keiki Playhouse. It cost her $3. There was a/c, slides, dinosaurs, etc. Kai thought it was so cool. Then he saw there was another space. A space with a pizza oven. Kai saw the kitchen spaces and said, “OOOOOO who who WHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!” He immediately got to cooking.
We’ve read these books a lot
Kai got to show off his reading skills to cousin Ty this weekend. We’ve been reading the same books since he was just a few months old. It seems he’s started to memorize them. :)
Lastly, other things we did.
Making stick soup with Joshua. Slept with dinosaurs. Cooked. Played with daddy. Cuddled with mama. Sped down the hill.
