Oh man, is this kid keeping us on our toes or what?? With new teeth, packed schedules, and complete immersion into the Terrible Two’s, Kai is a bit of a handful. Even though he is an emotional wreck, he is still a human sponge for information. Mama has put considerable effort making sure Kai has a balance between social activities, learning opportunities, and down time. On Mondays and Tuesdays he goes to school, Wednesday he has his nature playdate, and on Thursdays and Fridays Liana visits before nap. We even started French lessons with Jack and Auntie Paula on Fridays. With all his activities, mama still found time to document the life of Kai. With all these learning opportunities, it’s no wonder he acts like a perfect genius all the time.

So super smart.

Very impressive.

Going to sleep by himself
Mama finally got tired of staying in Kai’s room with him until he fell asleep. One day, decided to tell him she needed to take a shower and left. He stayed in his room, reading his books and rearranging his animals and blankets until he fell asleep. Mama took a shower with out some little finger pointing at her “gina”. Mama decided to make this a regular thing. And when she goes to check on him, she see the sweetest little sight.

He doesn’t stop talking
In the morning, it is so cute to hear his little baby voice saying all the words. However, by evening, mama is looking for the mute button on this kid. He’s talking to himself. He’s talking to you. He’s talking to his things. He’s singing. He’s repeating what he hears. Noises are always coming out of his mouth-hole.

This noise coming out of his mouth-hole did make mama cry a little bit because it was so sweet.

Playdates with Liana
Liana has been coming over for the last two weeks to give her mama a bit of a break. Mama has been taking the opportunity to give Liana a school-like experience and hopefully teach Kai a few new things as well. We keep a schedule and do lots of fun activities that develop different skills. Liana and Kai have almost opposite personalities but they work really well together and enjoy each other’s company. We love having Liana over!

Visit to the Ali’i Lavender Farm
Forest Friends have been branching out of the forest and into some new territory for nature play. This week, we went to the lavender farm a few miles from the house. The views were gorgeous, the kids had a wonderful time, and mamas got to relax in a giant field of lavender. Oh, until they decided to do this and give mama a heart attack.

Pool Party with Jack
Auntie Paula was gone last week so Jack’s grandma invited Kai over for a couple play dates to keep Jack company. We even got to swim at the pool! Who was more excited to wear the floaties??? I wonder…

Don’t worry, he gets down time.
With all this socializing, it might seem that he doesn’t get any time to himself. But he still gets time to play his games, drive his truck, and paint his face.
