Shaka, bra!

Shaka, bra!

Last week, mama didn’t make a post because she didn’t take any pictures! Life has been a bit hectic in the Liu house with bathroom renos and two trips to the ER (not Kai related). Kai has been coming into a new phase of being a two-year-old. He’s still sweatin’ the small stuff but on the flip-side, he seems to be improving in almost every developmental area. His communication has gotten a lot better in the last two weeks. His memory of past events has increased as well. Now when people ask him questions, he can respond accurately and appropriately. He’s physically stronger and his balance continues to improve. Kai’s concentration has gotten better and is back to spending 45 minutes to an hour playing by himself. With all these new skills, mama has to try harder to make sure he gets enough to eat and enough sleep. It’s now a little easier to tell when he’s had enough.

Beaching with the Westcotts
For two weekends in a row, the Liu’s and the Westcotts have been going out for a little morning SUP sesh. The daddys go out to catch waves while the mama’s and babies hang back on the shore. If the conditions are right, we even put the boys on the board to practice their balance, jump off, and get used to handling the waves.

Playdate with Joshua
Joshua had no school on Friday this week so mama invited him over for a little playdate with Kai. Even though it’s been a long time since Joshua came over and it was the first time he stayed for several hours without his mama, he had a great time. The boys chatted, played legos, cars, and rode bikes. We even had Circle Time together and played a new game.

We still miss Liana
Even with having one of our best buddies over, we still miss Liana. Kai continues to ask if Auntie Kira is here every time he hears a car. But then he remembers she is in Germany. Still, Kai likes for me to write her name…

He’s been building some tall towers
I’m impressed.

He’s been climbing trees… naked
Sometimes he likes to sit in the trees… naked. It looks painful but he never complains…

Cooking with Kai
If you thought Kai had finally moved on from cooking, you thought wrong. Kai cooks every, single day. Now he’s gotten into cooking for other people. He spends so much time in his kitchen prepping food, seasoning it, cooking, and washing dishes.

Birthday wishes
Uncle Isaiah and Auntie Winnie both had birthdays last week. We made sure to wish them happy birthday. :)

Bonus Pictures!
