We work hard and we play hard.
Playing hard
This week we didn't have a lot of visitors but we had plenty to do at home! Kai is interacting with his world more than he ever did before. He loves playing with his baby gym and concentrates on hitting them little hang-dangly things (it is his most favorite thing to do). He listens to daddy play music and smiles. Tummy time is still his least favorite thing to do, but mommy and Kai smile and talk to each other to distract him from how much he hates it. Kai has even begun looking at books and listening to mommy talk smack about the babies in the pictures.
Getting into a routine
But he's a baaabbbyyyyyyy.... Let him just beeeeeeee..... No. A little bit of structure (even this early) can be comforting for baby. We are starting with nap time schedules because Kai and mommy both need him to take a nice long nap. Mommy looks forward to Kai's morning nap every day because naps are Nature's way of replenishing a parent's tolerance for their life-sucking spawn they created. Kai may wake up a lot but a couple minutes of patting puts him right back to sleep until he (and mommy) is really ready to wake up. What a happy baby he is after a long nap!

Maddox has attention competition
Maddox used to be the cutest. and the youngest. and everyone wanted to see him when they came over. But someone else is capturing everyone's attention and they don't seem too keen on sharing...
The 'double-eyelid' debate
There has been some debate that our very Asian-eyed baby has double eyelids. Daddy claims that under the right light and angle, you can clearly see he has double eyelids. It's true. Under the right light and tilted correctly (and with a microscope), you can see it on one eye. I've enhanced this photograph so you can see it.
