Jun 9 If you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself.

I swear I heard Kai say, "I can do it myself" at least 100 times this week. Well, maybe he didn't say it with what people call "words" but he definitely said it. Kai has been Mr. Independent this week. Mommy finally stopped sleeping in Kai's bed. She still goes in when he cries at night but he needs her less and less each night. Today, Kai slept in his bed all night, woke up on his own, and walked to mommy and daddy's room without crying. Once he was bored with them, he went to his playroom and played with his toys (and the tissue box). He knows what he wants and what he wants to do and if he can't do it, then the fallout starts. Thankfully, they are short-lived and Kai goes back to being the happy, silly baby he is.

Mr. Independent
Kai has become very independent this week. He's been less interested in mommy feeding him yogurt and has figured out how to use a spoon correctly (finally). He even got the hang of how to use a fork. He's always been great at playing with his toys by himself, but lately he's taken that to a whole new level. Kai has learned how to get his push cart over some difficult obstacles on his own. Mommy and daddy are pretty impressed.

Also, he's getting good at climbing steps.

Play, play, play. Play all day.
Kai got lots of playtime in with daddy this week. They have a lot of fun being silly together.

Kaia Day's birthday party
Kai's friend, Kaia, had her first birthday party and Kai was invited! Boy, did he have fun! He really enjoyed playing all by himself in the kiddie pool, running around like a maniac, and going down the slipnslide. He literally put no effort into socializing, even when other friends joined him in the pool. Like none. Here are some pictures of him playing by himself at a party with about 60 people.
