I am an island boy
This week has been full of new tricks and old patterns. Kai's vocabulary has exploded in the last couple of weeks. Some of his words are: stuck, dog, thank you, no, night night, fish, snack, more, and his one two-word phrase: more snack. He has animal sounds for a few animals and even sang his rendition of Itsy Bitsy Spider. He loves wandering around outside and now asks mama to open the door and walk with him. Mama is also starting to notice a few old patterns that may be sticking around for a while. Mama now knows when Kai is teething because he nurses ALL NIGHT LONG. In the beginning of the week, Kai was happily falling asleep without nursing or even a pacifier. By the end of the week he did a complete switch. Then mama saw his 8th tooth. Well played, little bean. Well played.
This week's theme: Water!
Kai was super into all things water this week. We went to the Ocean Center with friends, swam in at the pool, beached, played with the hose and took long baths in the wa wa bao.
Also a theme: Nature
Now that Kai has got a solid command over walking, mama lets him roam around the yard every day. Kai loves "hiding" in the trees, smelling flowers, and sharing rocks. We are so lucky to live in a warm enough climate that even mama doesn't mind wandering with him.
Kai's got a crew
Kai officially has three whole friends he sees regularly. Cullen, of course, and Jack and Joshua. This week, all four of them went to the Ocean Center together. Cullen, Kai, and Joshua ran around like little maniacs and Jack, who isn't walking yet, brought up the rear. The mamas even got a picture to commemorate the event.
Other things we did this week
Watched Coco alone. Watched Coco with a friend. Brushed our teeth. Slept. Made fun of daddy's useless nipples. Ate everything but the broccoli. Practiced buckling things. Stole some socks. Etc.
