This wasn't my best week.
I wouldn’t say this week was our favorite week. Kai was irrationally difficult, then he was sweet, then there was vomit, smiles, screaming, poop everywhere, sleeping and not sleeping, silliness and cuddles, then he was frustrated. It was a struggle to get through. Developmentally, mama and daddy can see Kai is progressing very quickly. He’s really starting to get body parts, he’s getting better at his puzzles, and he can now run. But with progress comes tantrums. BIG tantrums. Luckily for Kai, mama and daddy have lots of patience and will let Kai be upset until he is ready to hear why he can’t do something and what his options are.
Sweet Freedom
Mama and daddy continue to give Kai lots of opportunity to do things on his own. This week, he went grocery shopping for himself and learned how to cut a banana.
Books, books, books!
Mama and daddy have been reading books to Kai before he could even roll over. Kai has books out for him that he likes to look at every day. Every night, mama reads a book to him before he goes to bed. Now, Kai and mama go to story time at the Makawao Library. Sometimes, he sits and listens, other times, he screams. But, he does like to put the books in the drop bin and even lets mama find new books to bring home. Kai loves all the new books we bring home and we read even more!
All our blankets had vomit on them
At 1am Friday morning, for many, many hours, Kai vomited on all our things. Mama and daddy spent all night, changing sheets, clothes, showering, soothing Kai, and not sleeping. Poor Kai couldn’t do anything the next day except sit on the couch, have tiny bites of bread, and sips from mama. He watched Coco twice that day.
Watch him get excited when he sees that Disney castle though…
Other things we did
Ate snacks. Played in water. Slept A LOT. Baby things.
